The problem of unsteady free convective flow of a dusty fluid is presented for the effect of magnetic field through a porous medium bounded by an infinite vertical porous plate. The governing equations are the Navier Stokes' equations for the momentum, Energy equations and Continuity equations for the fluid phase and the particle phase. These equations are solved by multi parameter perturbation technique. The influence of Hartmann number, Prandtl number, permeability parameter, sink strength, mass concentration parameter and time relaxation parameter on the velocity and temperature for both fluid and particles are discussed graphically. Also the Skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number are discussed through numerical values. It is observed that increasing Prandtl number Pr, mass concentration parameter f and non-dimensional relaxation time parameter decreases the mean temperature and the transient temperature of the dusty fluid. It is noted that the permeability parameter and Magnetic field strength have no effect on the heat transfer coefficient. It is seen that the mean skin-friction increases with increase in permeability parameter K, mass concentration parameter f but decreases with increase in Prandtl number Pr, mass concentration parameter f, Magnetic field strength M and γ and decrease in sink strength S.Keywords

A field experiment was taken during summer at Naganahalli village, Mysore district, Karnataka to study the graded levels of zinc and boron on nutrient content and uptake by grain and straw of paddy. Among the treatments, T12 treatment (RDF+ZnSO4 @ 20 kg ha-1+borax @ 4 kg ha-1) recorded significantly higher nutrients (N, P, Ca, Mg, Zn, Cu and B ) content and uptake by grain and straw of paddy compared to all other treatments. The potassium and sulphur content and uptake were significantly high in T16 treatment (RDF+ZnSO4 @ 30 kg ha-1+borax @ 6 kg ha-1) but, the potassium uptake was significantly high in T13 treatment (RDF+ZnSO4 @ 20 kg ha-1+borax @ 6 kg ha-1). The RDF+FYM (T1) treatment showed significantly higher Fe and Mn content but their uptake was significantly high in T12 (RDF+ZnSO4 @ 20 kg ha-1+borax @ 4 kg ha-1) and T3 (RDF+ZnSO4 @ 20 kg ha-1) treatment by grain and straw of paddy. Keywords

Identification and delineation of potential areas for different crops, both at country and state level by using available legacy data assumes importance, in order to preserve and conserve these areas to feed the increasing population and future generations. In this direction, a new integrated approach has been developed to identify potential areas for different crops and the same has been validated. Identifying and delineating commodity specific areas/zones, would help in enhancing the productivity and profitability and framing of land use policies. Keywords
